I would have to say the 1972 Cowboys defense that beat the Dolphins 24-3 and held them to 183 total yards of offense.

I'm with Madman, the 85 Bears had the meanest Defense the league has ever seen. Having watched them dismantle teams and watching local post game stories, it was known that the Bears would try to take back the yardage that the offense gained against them, even in practice.
The second one is the Baltimore Ravens from their superbowl run, 2002 I think. They are the only ones that come close.

Kansas City - Super Bowl IV - delivered a huge beat-down on an explosive Minnesota Vikings offense....in the 23-7 route, Minnesota had 67 yards rushing, lost two fumbles and had three interceptions.

'85 Bears, or a few of the 70's Steelers and their Steel Curtain. They could really shut teams down, and for years, not just one season.

85 Bears or the teams of the 70s for the Steelers.
I'd like to see them go head to head in a no holds barred fight. Haha
