Yes. This past July I flew 1,200 miles, rented a motel and car, and volunteered in New Orleans....all at my own expense. I'm going back in '08 as well.

Demetrius, yes, have done volunteer charity work and found good and bad aspects, I volunteered in a very poor area where we gave out food to Latinos mostly, it was difficult to accept the mothers with many children asking for food while I saw their husbands/boyfriends, standing outside the gate drinking beer and joking. You almost feel guilty eating after hearing some of the sad tales these people tell you, and yet you must keep in mind that there are deadbeats out there.

Yes, quite a bit on my own. I also work for a 501 3c (a religious student center and part of my job is to coordinate and go out do work in the community with the kids with local and international charities).

Yes. I raised my boys to understand that we need to help out those less fortunate people. We always volunteer at a shelter for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I also serve on the Relay For Life committee. I am a three time cancer survivor and want others to know that there is hope and that someone does care.

Yes helped rebuild homes for elderly for "Christmas in April"
helped collect over 140,000 items of food for area food pantries in the last 7 yrs
Organized and ran a hurricane relief drive for Katina on 09/05 - 2 weeks after hurricane hit the big Easy sent a semi truck full of donated clothes, personel hygeine items

yeah i dated my ex for 7 years....
but seriously- i run the charity committee at our work and help organize the fundraisers we do for charities. I wish i could do more stuff like volunteering at places but i just never have the time!

Why yes I have, I have volunteered several ltimes at CitiTeam Ministry, a non-profit organization that delivers food baskets and Christmas presents to the homeless every year. It is such rewarding work and to see the happiness and joy on the families faces is indescribable. ♥

Everyday...they try to disguise it by giving me a measley Bi weekly stipend but I know what's up!
I used to donate money for food and feed the homeless at a local park on Thursdays and during the holidays but we are not allowed to do that anymore....liability reasons.
I donate clothing that is too small for my kids to a local children's shelter.
I would like to have a fundraiser for Foster Youth in my county and begin an endowment in the name of my grandparents for the foster youth facility also.

Yep, I used to volunteer at a Red Cross clothing store before I went full time at my other job. Now I just help out when I have some free time.
