Like they want equality in the corporate world, but not when it comes to the military or dating or child custody, fixing their own car, etc...

Why is this ok? I can't think of any areas of life feminists seek equality were true equality would actually benefit men.

And if its really about EQUALITY... who benefits should not matter. It should be about PEOPLE.. not WOMEN.

Abortion for instance.. should be about the good of BOTH parents and the child. But it always gets shifted to "the woman has to go through blah blah blah..." Nevermind the child support the man has to pay when he doesn't want the kid.

When did whats good for WOMEN become more improtant than whats good for SOCIETY??

I'm waiting for this answer: " Wait till you get pregnant and see what its like.. then you can decide!!! "

--- yeah once again.. whats good for the WOMAN is all that matters...

Because women only exceed men in one department: Their ability to complain.

I agree to some extent. However, institutions like the police or the military SHOULD NOT be mixed only for equality. Rather, they should accept the best people for the job, men or women; this goes for all admissions for college and employments. But more often than not, the men are better and more efficient at managing the duties and responsibilities required by the position of a cop or a soldier.

In the case where EVERYTHING else is equal about the candidates besides race or gender, then I have little problem with the position going to the minority, because the door will always be open for me. Yeah, I'll be upset, but I can always try harder next time; the minority might not get that chance.

A lot of women DO want equality in dating, but I can also see where they're coming from if they're specifically looking for a man who can provide for a potential family. Women ARE the gender who goes through pregnancy and are biologically involved in nurturing the offspring through breastfeeding. It's difficult to do that and work for a living at the same time, so it's in her interest to search for a partner who can provide that which she cannot. Other primates and mammals are the same way.

I'm as unsatisfied as you are about the fact that a woman has the SOLE choice to decide whether or not a man has to pay child support for the next 18 years. Although BOTH the man and the woman had the decision pre-intercourse, HER decision is the only one that matters post-intercourse. But since I'm not smart enough to come up with an acceptable legal solution, you might need to take that up with your creator.

The bottom line is that due to inherent biological inequality, there will never be gender equality.

Since when do women NOT want equality when it comes to the military, dating, child custody, or fixing their own car? Where are you getting these ideas? Of course there should be equality in all these aspects. The best parent should get the children, dating... I have no idea what feminist ideals clash with equality in dating-- so I don't even know where you were going with that one, I can fix my own car (to a degree. And if not, my mother can do the rest), I'm still serving in the military... So... you'd have to elaborate these "double standards" a bit more. You're being to vague.

The only instance you brought up that has some form of understandable explanation is abortion. So... you're upset that the man has to pay child support if she decides not to have an abortion? What would you have him do? Force her to have an abortion? And what does this have to do with the betterment of society? That a man (or woman, because, remember, women do pay child support when the father has the child, too) has to pay child support somehow negatively effects society? If anything, this is money that goes back into the economy and thus continues the creation and keeping of jobs. Money spent is money in societies pocket (now what the government DOES with those taxes paid is another issue).

While I can see your frustration, it has nothing to do with SOCIETY.

How is forcing a woman to have an abortion good for society? How is ending child support good for society? Wouldn't these two things be good for a few men, but bad for women, children, and in the first case, a grave human rights abuse?

You can thank feminists for making it acceptable for you to even HAVE premarital sex, or have the ability to divorce for no reason, or for there now being only a tiny chance (5%) of being forced to pay alimony after a divorce. Feminism went hand-in-hand with the idea that personal freedom and personal happiness should trump a person's obligations to his or her family. That goes for both men AND women. I assume you are a fan of those personal freedoms, so equality means that women must have similar personal freedoms.

What exactly is it that you consider "good" for society? A society where everybody's career and educational opportunities are determined by their race, religion, and gender and not by their individual talents and levels of ambition? Do you really want to live in a world like that? It's great for those who benefit from it but for everybody else, it's nothing but misery.

If fixing our own cars is now law then most MEN I know are failing society.

AGAIN child support is for the CHILD! Women are in the military, and custody is decided on the best interests of the child........Dating????

Where's the logic?

I'm not sure you're aware of it, but women are actually "people" as well. Just wanted to make that one clear!

This happened about 30 years ago, give or take. Hopefully it will be coming to an end soon, and we can get our society back on track.

well i think you might have one thing switched or confused here. Feminist are not looking for "equality" they might say that in a campaign or two but theyre not. theyre looking for the advancement in the female gender as a whole, which personally i think is BS. and i am a woman! figure that out. i dont think that we should push for equality or we should push for affirmative action i think all that is BS i think that if an "African american" applys to University of Santa Barbra the same time i do and they have one spot left and i have way better grades, more community service and have overall better refrences than he does but he gets in because they dont have enough blacks in the school to meet their quota for the year...thats crap. like in large companies (at least in the west im refering too) they have some women as executives, im not saying women should be able to hold those jobs but im saying that if a man has better records or better achievments or higher diplomatic standards than she does, she shouldnt get the job cause she has a vag! i think he should, and if they try to say "well i dont have the employment background he does because corporations wont hire me because im female" thats also crap because she can bust her butt and get somewhere she doesnt have to rely on gender profiling to get a job. show some skill. go back to college if youre that determined and get a kick butt degree like an MBA or something your competitors dont have!

and on your abortion subject youre also right i think it should be a mutual decision. its not a guys fault that God decided to make it so only women can have the baby i believe they injected sperm and should decide as well if they baby lives or basically gets murdered. but then again there are a lot of things corrupt in our society that posting about on yahoo answers wont fix. its unfortunate.

more power to you though!

The idea that society should come before the rights of individuals is very fascist, indeed.
