I would build 100,000 homes and let them live in it. I would also give them the neccesary things like food and water. I woudl also check on how they are doing once a month.

All anyone can do about homeless people is make sure that they have a safety net (not a hammock!) that will last only a limited time and then make them work for their benefits. This is the only way to fix the problem. That is what a President can do.

What we can do is stop pretending that there is nothing wrong with teen aged girls getting pregnant. Teach young people that they are responsible for their own actions and decisions. Teach young people that it is not possible to fail in America if you make good decisions and refuse to accept failure as an answer. One thing we know does not work and that is throwing more money at the problem. That has proven to do nothing but create more dependents.

Merry Christmas!

I would personally do nothing and I would leave it up to the states to handle it. Homelessness though, is not as big a problem as many think. While it is serious and should be dealt with, there are very few people who are actually homeless and the federal government should not have to try and solve a problem that doesnt effect even 1% of the nation's population. It must be left up to the states to decide what to do with the homeless because the federal government has enough issues to deal with.

It's not within the President's jurisdiction even to address this problem.

But here's the answer. Each homeless person is identified. They are then placed in a rehab program. They are found a place to live, taught skills, and given a job.

If they fall off the wagon, and can't function in our society, you repeat the process a second time.

If they fail again, you try it one last time.

After the third failure, you rescind their citizenship and exile them to a third world country. You pay the third world country to take them, maybe $10,000. And then you forget about them.

Harsh? I don't think so. Give them a reasonable chance to rejoin the mainstream of society. But three strikes, and you're out!

I would first reduce taxes. Give companies a huge tax break to build and expand (this will create more jobs). After doing that I would sit back and watch the economy grow and tell people that the homeless should get a friggin job and get a home.

Put a halt to incoming immigrants, NAFTA, raise taxes on the upper and upper middle class incomes, penalize companies for out-sourcing work. Use the funds gathered to make incentives available to contractors and property owners to help house the homeless. Give them all jobs with companies that will keep work in the U.S.A.

http://www.usbig.net/ Congress authorizes the printing of money then hands it out to the wealthy NOT the poor! Take pride in your own country first! Amend the constitution to end fascist capitalism. Replace with a true direct consensus Democracy of/by/for the legal citizen majority allowing these same people to be inclusive of the pie! Stop all forms of immigration! http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5871651411393887069

Just as President Reagan did regarding the definition of ketchup (or catsup for the anally retentive) as a vegetable, I'd declare all bridges and other overpasses to be the roofs of 'homes' and thereby eliminate the problem once and for all.

After a perusal of the Constitution, it would become obvious that it is NOT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT'S PROBLEM.

It's quite straightforward and simple.
