Well after all these years, just barely. I had my very first date with a very manly and mature boy from a military academy. I had met him at a military ball and we'd hit it off right away.
On our first date, he was doing his Elvis 'thing', and was
wearing jeans and a leather jacket with the collar turned up in
back. That was quite a contrast from the military uniform he'd worn at the ball. And that was when no one wore leather jackets yet. Or few anyway. I remember smelling cigarette smoke on the leather, and learned from that, he smoked. My parents were both smokers so I wasn't bothered by that fact.
We took a cab downtown, to one of THE best theatres on
Broadway. I was soon very impressed. No bus ride for him.
After the movie had been playing awhile and we'd had some
short conversations, he warmed up to me, and put his arm
around the back of my chair, letting it fall over my shoulder
at one point. He was smoothe and unfaltering, as he
maneuvered my face toward his and he leaned into mine
and placed the most gentle and full kiss on my lips as if he
was brushing them with his own. It was so warm and romantic
and to think this was a young boy of 15, and not a confidant
man in his 30's. It was better than a movie kiss, and it was
heavenly. He must have thought so too, for he asked me if
I'd ever kissed before. And I admitted I hadn't. And so he
asked further, "where did you learn to kiss like that?", because I kissed like I'd kissed alot of guys, he'd added.
And so I told him the truth. "From watching movies"! LOL. And we became the perfect couple right from the start.
I don't remember what we did after the movie, but I'm sure
we went to get a bite to eat, since we usually did after a movie. He always knew how to show me a good time and we enjoyed being together for as long as time allowed. I'm sorry that fate interrupted our plans to marry. But I'm glad I still have the memory of my first kiss and the best first date I could ever have had. A first class gentleman, even at his very young age, who respected and loved me, sincerely and totally for the two and a half years we were able to be together.

I was in 4th grade (no kidding) and I took my girlfriend to the movies. There were 2 aisles. We went to get some popcorn and sodas between movies (back in the day there were usually double features) and when we came out she wanted to go to the entrance on the left to see what movie was playing there. I was amazed at how stupid she was. She was a straight A student in school. However, I quickly remembered this was her first time in a movie (we'd been to drive-ins with her family and mine before) theater. I took her hand and told her, "It's the same as the other side, but if you want to sit over there, we can." When we were seated, she put her head on my shoulder and I realized she was crying. She was embarrassed. I really felt bad for her. That was back in 1956 in Ogedensburg, NY. I often wonder about Donna. She sure liked to kiss, for a 4th grader.

I think I was 14. And it was nearly Autumn. I had spent that summer working on a foreign flag merchant vessel as a cabin boy, so I had a bit more spending money than the average teenager. We went to dinner at Bloom's Deli and Restaurant. A place which is quite close to Grand Central Station in New York City and is still operating. Then we went on to see a live musical. I think it was "Kismet". After that we went to her place where I dropped her off.
Don't know which of those categories it fits.

As was common with our generation, I was not supposed to be able to date until I was 16. I had a boyfriend, though, who was 17 when I was only 15. We'd actually been an "item" since I was 12 - I went to his baseball games with his family, we hung around together at school. But he invited me to go to Clowes Hall at Butler University to see Sonny and Cher - this must have been 1966. I begged my mom and was so unrelenting that she finally gave in. What an evening! We dressed up, he was a perfect gentleman, and what a memory!

Yep , the whole day exploring way back in the woods . There was a very large lake that we walked around . We saw wildlife, galore . It was a rather cool Autumn day , a little over sixty years ago . Our life started out story-book perfect , and got still better day by day to the present .

Yes I do. I went on a double date with a nice guy and his sister and her date in an old VW. I was a nervous wreck. My feet were crowded so I had them under the drivers seat and I guess I was constantly moving them.
On the way home, my date's sister drove and she said to her date who drove on the way there, "No wonder you've been grinning. Kate has been goosing you all night long!".

Yes. It was pretty funny actually. I went with to a formal dance with my best friends brother and she went with a guy who I was really interested in. We were freshmen and they were Juniors. We got to the dance and they left us. We didn't see them again until it was time to leave. It was a formal dance so I guess they were just dateless and desperate!

Yes, it was actually a "quad date". There were four couples. We were in the 8th grade. Went for pizza, then hung out at one of the girl's parent's house. I got a goodnight kiss. We "broke up" a week later. Twenty-some years later her & my best friend got married. They got divorced seven years later. I could have told him it wouldn't last! :)
