Tejada is a good player but not what he once was. The Astros need a lot more than him to find themselves in the mix.

I said this was a bone head trade even before the Mitchell report was released. The Astros had to trade 5 players including the best 2 pitching prospects in the farm system to get a 31 year old short stop with limited range and declining power numbers. It was an absolutely terrible trade.

I feel he will do fairly well in Minute Maid Park giving the left field wall being 315 ft. away and 19 ft. high. With the addition of him hitting only 18 HR's/81RBI's, hitters like Carlos Lee 32 HR's/119 RBI's, Lance Berkman 34 HR's/102 RBI's and Hunter Pence 17 HR's will increase will make them a force in the offensive category. Their only worry would be starting pitching. Roy Oswalt is their only shut down starter. They don't even have any legitimate #2 or #3 starters.

it was a bad trade, so they got a great (cheating) player in tejada. but they gave up some pitching. really what they needed to do was sign a couple pitcher instead of giving some up

The Astros weren't a contender before the trade for this guy, and they sure as the hell aren't now.

He is a solid addition. With the short porch in Houston, he should do well. His numbers have gone down the past few years. Better than Everett at short

He doesn't really have to be drug free. There is no way to test for HGH in urine, and the MLBPA will never, ever consent to blood tests for players, ever.
