I was wondering, do you think it's possible for a teenager to write a best selling novel? There are so many great books out there, and so many famous series are ending, do you think the next great author could be a teenager?

yes they live and see things so different from older adults and thats great to see it the way they do so yes they can write a best selling novel.

I don't know of any teenagers with high-profile book publishing deals, but it is possible. Evan Rachel Wood helped write the script for her first movie "Thirteen". The books that the movie "Eragon" are based on were started when the author was 15, and polished up in adulthood. Many teenagers I know have excellent ideas and stories worth reading, but most of them do not have the writing skills needed to become the next great author.
Anything is possible.

Yes, I guess it's possible for a teenager to write a "best selling" novel, but I would differentiate that from a teenager being a "great author," which I'd estimate to be highly unlikely.

It's happened before. Christopher Paolini and Eragon is one example. Another is The Outsiders. S.E. Hinton was 15 when she started writing it in 1964, and 18 when it was published in 1967.

Yes, but unlikely. Even a teen who's a gifted writer needs time and practice to polish his or her skills. Chris Paolini is a good example, I suppose, but then one or both of his parents are editors, so he had help from the very beginning.

Christopher Paolini was a teenager when he wrote Eragon. I don't know if it was technically a best seller (depends on how you measure), but it certainly did very well.

Yes Amelia Atwater rhoades is a teen and has wrote highly accailmed books. like demon in my view.
