If I could somehow setup the evidence for it... I'd really like to be the one to manufacture the "End of the world" rumor... or the "Aliens have just visited our planet rumor".... I'd love to be the first one to tell the world that and have it widely believed

I would start a rumor that gasoline is going to be $6 to $8 in several years. Perhaps people would start buying cars that got better gas mileage. (Actually, I really do believe that gas will be close to that price in several years.)
