He killed dogs and was in dog fights. He could have at least 8-10 months in jail, but he failed his drug test and lied to the judges, pissing them off and making the sentence longer. He could have gotten longer if he hadn't told the judges that he was doing dog fighting. Even after the 23 months he still has to face state charges which could be up to 10 years, or less. If he did go back to the NFL and got on a team, he would be suspended for a year or 2.
His sentence was also shortened because he promised to pay for all those dogs who dies and he's in a financial mess.

You have got to be kidding. His dumb A$$ broke the law & tortured innocent dogs & made them fight & electrocuted some of the ones that lost the fights. So he aplogized & said he was sorry, yeah sorry his dumb A$$ got caught. I will tell you what, let a few pit bulls loose in his jail cell for say about only 10 minutes & if he survives, then you can release him from jail. He should not be released from jail for a long long time & should never be allowed to play football ever again. Why do you think he should be freed from jail?

He got off light if you ask me. That was cruel what they did to those dogs. Just because he's Micheal Vick doesn't mean he's above the law. He did the crime. He should do the time. And, yes, if it was Peyton Manning, or Tom Brady, or Brett Favre electrocuting dogs, slamming them on the ground or shooting them, I would feel the same way. People need to quit defending the guy.

1. He committed a felony - dog fighting and gambling on dog fights is illegal in all 50 states. It's a crime and crimes carry punishment.
2. He lied to a federal judge about his involvement and only admitted to his illegal activity when his buddies tossed him under the bus.
Just because he's an NFL qb, that doesn't exempt him from having to follow the law. He broke the law and deserves to do his time. I just hope he serves it to full term rather than getting early parole.

He is a dog killer and a liar! He is exactly where he should be and for lying to his coach, teammates, and the NFL commissioner, he should never be let back into the league. Playing in the NFL is an honor and he has proven he has none! I agree with America's Team Always, Bring him to Texas and let us put him to death. We can hang him, drown him, electrocute him the way he did those poor pups.

Because he COMMITTED A CRIME. Now in contrast, Leonard Little, defensive end for the Rams, killed a WOMAN and did no jail time. Our legal system at work.
