Congratulations, a Gay Dane.
Make a big fuss and/or a coming out card. It's taken some courage for him to come out to you. I bet he was worried that your reaction might be negative, even though you're friends. He's lucky to have a friend like you. Have fun..

I'd start by thanking him for having trust in you to be honest and open. Then I would go on as before, with the exception of once in a while asking him about his friends, has he found anyone special yet, questions that let Dane know you are glad for him and that open the conversation up for him to talk about his experiences, that is if he wants to. Most importantly just be his friend-

I don't understand, what do you mean what should you do? Be his friend. Don't treat him no different now that he told you he was gay. He is still the same person before he came out of the closet and he will be the same person after. Don't treat him any different and mess up a good friendship.

Don't treat Dane any differently than you did when he was in the closet. He is still your friend and you should still be his.
Sexual orientation, desires etc aside - he is still the same person.

Ummm...be there for him, love him for who he is?
Apparently you're upset by the whole ordeal...but why? Were you in love with him? Does your family not accept homosexuality? In any case, you should be fully supportive of him if you are his friend, and stand up to those who may make fun of him.

Treat him just the same. he is the same person that he was, he's just more open and feels more comfortable with you.
