why does tv sucks nowadays?

I don't have any cable at my house and I'm proud of it. I have the internet and it gives me enough media and entertainment. I also have blockbuster total access as well. How come about 10 years ago I was watching tv more and now I'm watching tv less. How come the shows that replace the old shoes ain't as good anymore. I can't stand watching half the shows on but I do enjoy reruns of the old shows. Why has the quality of tv shows have gone down so much.

Because people are not demanding more quality programming.

I mean, c'mon... you have shows like Jackazz with Steve-O making millions of dollars, the late Anna Nicole (Thank god she's dead), I love New York, The Hills, MTV's Sweet 16, Shot of Love with that chihuahua head Tila Tequila, etc.

And people actually tune in to see these dumb f**ks. What do you expect? Works of Shakespeare?

It all began with a little show on Fox TV called Cops. What a neat idea huh? Film police departments from different cities busting the bad guys, and air it on TV, give it a catchy theme show. From then on reality tv became the norm. Why spend big bucks to entertain when they can film a reality show for way cheaper. And because the creators of tv and movies are all sniffing the permanent markers they keep thinking we need to watch The Bachelor kick another bevy of beautiful but cheap women to the curb, or ten offerings of Date Line a week.

Well more recently we have the ongoing writer's strike so most shows are or are about to go into reruns. Networks also put on a lot of reality shows to fill in their programming scheduled.

As far as the rest of it, I suppose that depends on your taste in programming. Personally I think there are a lot of very good shows on the air now on both commercial and cable/satellite TV.

Everyone is looking for a quick buck and no one wants to put in the effort for quality shows now a days. It seems like they are out for quantity. If they put 1,000 crappy shows on, they must figure one will be decent. I would rather them put out less shows that are actually entertaining and not the same old jokes over and over again. It isn't much better on cable either!

i think tv sucks these days because its all fake and its just too much sex and nudity they are children watching this stuff and this is the reason why kids are making wrong choices because of what they are seeing on tv.i mean what can u learn from watchin gals acting stupid on these reality tv like bachelor ,flavour of love.i prefer watching the reruns of old shows.
