I'm going back to school this winter and want a small laptop. I'm just going to use it for internet, email, writing papers and running World of Warcraft on low settings when I need a break. I know the mac's are a little more but I'm thinking a macbook will give me a better chance of running Warcraft decently. What do you think??

I have to take the laptop back and forth to school/work. I have a desktop PC at home and wish I could just stick with that but practically I need a laptop. I've used mac's and PC's before and really don't have a prefrence when it comes to this issue. Any graphic intense games that I want to run I can do on my home PC, I'd just like to run WoW on whatever I end up picking.

Apples to Oranges....Either will play it "decently".

However, based upon your usage, I'd also go with a Mac book (and I am a PC Specialist).

Get an Asus Eee PC! They're ultra-portable (about the size of a book), run Xandros Linux (no viruses!), and you can't beat the price: $399 It comes with great open source software bundled, too like Open Office (free office suite that is compatible with MS Office) and Firefox. Skype's included too. Downside is that the solid state hard drive (low power consumption and won't be hurt by a drop) is only 4GB, so you'd want to have an external (which, it's what? $60 for 500GB?) drive to hold your music.

And STOP saying "Mac or PC"! Macs ARE PCs. PC == Personal Computer. Unless that Mac is a server or a mainframe, it's a PC.

Well, I'm not sure about all the numbers & whatnot, but I hear that Vista is a major pain in the behind & people who can are even down-grading to XP. If it's that bad & Vista is on every PC in the store then I'd suggest going for a Mac.

If you want a little gaming you will need at least 250mb of graphics!! Most laptops only give you 125mb and you wont be able to game (even a little) on that size.
Personally I use pc laptop. Others prefer Mac.

Do you need to take the laptop to school with you, or just for homework? Because laptops aren't good for gaming. But, PC or Mac is personal preference thing. It depends what you're used to....

PC!
I've always found macs to be a PITA, and they have way less software and service available.
