They're afraid of God's wrath. They focus on the anger of Deus Irae of the Old Testament who destroyed Soddom & Gommorah, slew those fleeing Goshen that began to worship the golden calf in Moses' absence etc... They do this despite professing believe in the New Testament and ignoring simple things seen there that tell them things like: Forgive one another, Love one another and Judge not lest ye be judged.
It is the ultimate hubris - they wish to do God's work for him thereby showing that they feel the "all powerful" isn't so powerful after all since he needs them to do it for him.

We don't.
It is the left, not the right, that shouts down ideas they disagree with.
It is the left, not the right, that wants to impose restrictions on communications.
It is the left, not the right, that overwhelmingly supported campaign finance reforms that had the effect of silencing free speech.
So, tell us, based on what facts (if any) are you saying this?

Neocons and fundamentalists dislike it becuase it voices opposition to their ideals.
Apart from that, there are those who think that free speech, civil rights liberty groups, etc. are going to ruin the nation, and hold them responsible for 9-11, which is entirely untrue.
