My personal opinion is that a college degree is important, and no player should have to choose between college and the NBA (e.g. AI). I read something on espn (in an article about Greg Oden) saying that the chance of injuries in the ncaa was really very very small, not enough for it to be a factor in making a decision. I just think that there is a maturity level that comes from being in college... and these guys are going to retire from basketball one day, and what then??? They not only need to have a college degree and some other skills... but they also need to know how to manage their money and understand that it won't be there forever. While I definitely think skill level is involved (e.g. Kobe, KG and Lbj) - I think the players should think of themselves and their future first - and that means, for me, staying in college and getting a degree, and learning how to be a better basketball player at the college level (e.g. Tim Duncan). This is a very interesting subject, and I would love to interview past and present players to see what their thoughts are.

He was born in S.C. but went to Farragut Academy in Chicago before being drafted, which is why so many people wanted the Bulls to make a deal for him.
