I guess this depends on the person based on the other answers but I'm almost 70 pounds overweight and I'm 21 weeks pregnant. It took 3 months to get pregnant this time. With my daughter (my 1st), it was our 1st try and I got pregnant and I even weighed about 10 pounds more. Being overweight can cause complications once you are pregnant but I've been careful and very fortunate and have had no problems. Good luck!

I was able to conceive when I was overweight. I started to lose weight but was gaining inches and I had what seemed like a regular period and didn't know that I was pregnant. I gave birth to a healthy baby girl and I wasn't even trying to get pregnant.

Not necessarily. The only way your weight would effect your being able to conceive is if it interfered with your menstrual cycle and your ovulation. Sometimes overweight women develop PCOS (Polycystic ovarian syndrome) and actually stop ovulating. If that is the case, then one must lose weight and follow a low carb diet because it generally works the best for women with PCOS. Through diet and exercise most women can control PCOS themselves and go back to ovulating again.

I'm sure it can I'm 59 lbs overweight and I know it has been 6 months since we Started trying to conceive..and to be honest I think we will have to still be trying for a few more months...Even my older sister, who is very thin took like 3 months to conceive and they are both in tip top shape...VERY ready physically to conceive....so keep that in mind...

no my aunt by marriage to my uncle is overweight but shes conceived and given birth to four kids.3girls and 1boy.

not always, my friend who is overweight, got pregnant with the first try.
