The OLDIES station I listen to started playing Christmas music (WHAT YOU GREW UP WITH) the day after Thanksgiving. I have it on in the warehouse where I'm picking/packing material for shipment to India. I sometimes really 'get down' to it and dance a bit. Folks walking through give me odd looks, but hey, life is short and I'm turning 61 in a few days, so pffft to them. he he

I don't like how the commercial world starts Christmas on the first shopping day after Thanksgiving, and try to hold off the holiday until well into December. I get so overloaded by it that I feel like these people who put the tree up on December 1 and toss it in the trash on Dec. 26. Unfortunately, the only radio station I get well on the way to work is all Christmas music, so I listen to that. Very repetitious! I love Christmas, but was brought up to begin the festivities just before the date and continue on until after the New Year.

I listen almost year 'round. The other day, just as I was turning up the volume on the cd player in my car, someone drove right toward me in my lane. I had a very unkind thought, and I think I might have said something, too, but just then the music became audible: "Silent Night". I was ashamed, and humbled. I am not a great person. But I know when I'm wrong, and the words to that beautiful song humbled me immediately and put a lot of things in a better perspective.
