I have a small cut at the bottom of my ear where it joins my head. I first noticed it 7 years ago. It disappears but always keeps coming back, and i have no recolection of ever cutting it. Any idea what's causing this? I have tried various healing creams, but it keeps reoccuring.

Other cuts heal fine- it's just this one that keeps coming back

I would suggest consulting a dermatologist about this. It sounds like a skin condition.

Wounds that do not heal are usually a bad sign. It is something that people with diabetes suffer from. You need a doctor to check it out and see what is going on. Since it comes and goes then I am more inclined to think it is a skin condition, maybe agrivated by cold, dry air this time of year.

I used to have the same thing. I used to pick at it, and that would always make it worse. But even when I didn't pick, it would stay there. It was there for probably a few years, and now it's basically gone. I have no idea what caused it.

I get this sometimes too, I think it is some kind of skin infection, just keep up with the cream when it happens, try washing the area every day.

I don't want to scare you but you need to get to your doctors soon. You could have a condition that won't allow it to heal. See your primary and make sure you tell him everything you have experienced with this cut.

Good Luck!
