Talk about a big fat mess. Trillion dollar deficit ? How do
you go from 60 to 0 like in a matter of 7 years. Now I know
some stiff necked, narrow minded, jaded, intellectually
challenged, Conservative is gonna say otherwise.
But common sense does not ride well, with the GOP.
I see that now..... Worst president since Hoover,
so they tell me. The one who led us into the Great
Depression and beyond. Also, Nixon. We all saw then,
how disfunctional, the Republican Party truly is. Now
we have another one. America's ready for a change.
And we know for sure that a dismal performance like
this administration, is doomed to repeat itself, if we
vote a Repub, back in the White House. Scandals after
scandals. Latest one, Halliburton. It is ashame.....
I find Bush hilarious, don't you ? Best answer wins.

You might want to rethink the Hoover comparison.
Hoover didn't lead the USA into depression. He was only 8 months into office when the market crashed due to economic policies of the prior years.
Hoover brought many policies to congress designed to end the economic woes of the era. Each of these policies, including a bill to create a federal retirement program for Americans 65 year of age and over, was blocked by the Democratic Speaker of the House, John "Cactus Jack" Nance, who went on the be VP of the USA under FDR.
Every single one of Hoover's programs that had been blocked by the Democratic congress became part of FDRs New Deal.
The fact is, congressional politics from 1930 thru 1932 allowed the depression to worsen just in order for a democratic win in the 32 election.
Congression records clearly show that the congress delayed fixes. Hoover has been wrongly labeled as the president who led the country into depression, when most of the New Deal was his brain child.

Even before Bush was elected I recognized that he was an idiot. It was clear that he did not have the intellectual gravitas, per se to understand the subtleties involved in foreign policy, the economy, etc.

But, I was way wrong in thinking that there were enough checks and balances in our government to prevent him from screwing things up too badly. 9/11 gave Cheney and Co. the opportunity to manipulate Bush (which proved really easy since he is so stupid) into implementing their hawkish vision of attacking other countries (they actually had a plan to topple 7 governments) and to amass more power to the executive branch at the expense of the other branches of government, as well as to politicise the Justice Department.

And so, we stirred up a hornets nest in the middle-east which has created uncertainty in the oil markets, thus driving prices up. Oil was $26/barrel when he took office and now it's almost $100/barrel.

And he has spent our money like a drunken sailor, while also cutting taxes. During the Clinton administration our National debt had dropped considerably and we were very close to balancing our Federal budget. Now, our National debt has gone up 60% since Bush took office and we are running big deficits again every year.

And, the economy has been decent during most of his presidency, but that's largely due to control exercised by the Fed. But the cost of those controls are coming due and all economists agree a big slowdown is coming, if not a recession.

Furthermore, our relations with allies are in tatters, all the world knows that by torturing and the abuses at Abu Garaib and Guantanamo we have abandoned any moral high ground we held, we have mad al Queda and Iran much stronger than they were before we invaded Iraq, we have gone through scandal after scandal at home, our military readiness is at an alltime low, partison gridlock is at an alltime high, and Bush has the lowest approval ratings of any president in modern history.

The only good thing Bush has done while in office was the initial invasion of Afghanistan and toppling of the Taliban. That action enough was sufficient to show the nations of the world that harboring terrorists would result in bad things.

So in short, Bush is an idiot and a moron and a puppet manipulated by smarter people like Cheney, and he has been a dismal failure as president.

This dude is dumb and stupid (If that's possible). Isn't there a law in the Constitution that requires action from Congress to impeach the President whe he uses the US Military for his own benefit? Every smart American knows he's an idiot but we're so intrigue by Britneys Spears' personal saga that we act like we don't care. If anyone can tell me one positive thing President Bush has done since 2000, I will kiss my own a*s.

Read what Bugeyes has to say about George Soreass. It's cost a lot of money to protect America from the rag-heads , but without it , who knows how many more buildings would have been bombed with many many thousands more lives lost . I prefer it this way .

Right now, he's putting the bill for the Bush War on a credit card. We won't be laughing when he's out of office and the bill finally comes.

While he might be funny to listen to and to laugh at, his actions in gov't have been very scary and criminal. He's the real-life incarnation of The Joker.

Hilarious isn't the word that immediately springs to mind in my case. I agree that the consequences of his presidency have been nothing short of disastrous, that they continue to worsen, and that they'll be felt for many, many years. However, it seems to me that the joke is on us. And I for one am distinctly unamused.
