Because they view the animal as innocent as a child that has never done anything wrong, like a 2 year old. These people would view an adult. but not elderly or disabled male, they don't like lower. You see, honor dictates you never harm a woman, child, elderly, severely disabled, a child, or a defenseless animal such as a cat (but not a bear) to many people.

we all have different devotions,
our government spends more money to look for one person than to take care of our oceans

and NO most people do NOT have a voice, we should help them rather than worry that one hedge is slightly shorter than the other or what the smith's have

Not dumb. Animals are living creatures as well but they have no voice. If someone were coming to rip down where you live can't you say something and do something about it? Yeah, you can, there are many things you can do about, as for animals though. There's nothing they can do but move to another area which usually is much worse and end up not being able to survive. They deserve the right to live as well. We came and took over THEIR turf. And house pets and even farm animals, they deserve for us to take care of them because if it weren't for us they would still be wild animals able to take care of themselves but we went and domesticated them. Not to mention animals are more appreciative than other humans, you give an animal one meal they're your best friend for ever, you give a human one meal, 2 hours later they're demanding another and telling you exactly what to do and how to do it.

Upon what premises do you base your assertions?

How is it 'dumb' to care more for animals than for people? And how do you know that it is true in the first place? What are your sources? Are they reliable?

Besides, who are you to say that an animal is any less important than a human being? Humans are animals, too. True, we are superior in intellect. But that does not give anyone the right to mistreat an animal.

Besides, we have dominion over the lower animals. Ergo, we have a great responsibility to them. Often, animals are helpless, and we should care for them, like we would a child. Don't you agree?

People should care for animals but people come first. Like, if you have a vicious dog, you have to protect people from it, even if you really like the dog.

you're generalizing.

Have you actually *PERSONALLY* met "all" people? Every single human being? No, nobody could make that claim.

Some people do care a lot for animals. There are OTHER people who are deliberately cruel and vicious to animals, killing them for sport or thrills - just recently here in California there was a story on the news about a six week old kitten who had been brought into an emergency room after being found with an ARROW through its' midsection - some dumbarse had gone BOW HUNTING and stalked and tried to kill this poor defenseless kitten. Fortunately they were able to save it (by surgery) and it was adopted out to a good home.

So your "theory" doesn't hold water, sorry.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. But I do take up the cause of animals and foster cats. Human being already have a lot of help out there and are responsible for themselves. Animals are innocent victims. But I believe animals feel and hurt just like us. They make wonderful companions. And I believe they have souls.

First of all, it is not true.

Secondly, humans can mostly help themselves while animals often can not. Once you grow up, you might understand the concept of helping the helpless.

Why ??

a lot of animals behave much nicer than a lot of people .
