I use double-stitch canvas, sequins and bowling ball sized beads so that when I was it in the car wash the beads just jam up the machinery and don't ruin the tutu. How about you?

I spent almost a month stitching up a pink tutu for a hippo that was in our local parade. The day of the parade, I took the tutu down to the hippo's trainer, and we carefully slide it on around her waist. I was standing along the street as the "best dressed hippo" approached, and at that very moment, a shower of beads and confetti went everywhere! It seems like the hippo had gained a little weight since I measure her at the tutu fitting, and she literally burst her tutu at the seams!! Everybody along the parade route just thought it was part of the show.

When one of my daughters was little, she loved dancing around, so I made a pink tutu for her as a Christmas gift. She was quite a chubby little thing at the time, and her mean older brother made a remark about Disney's dancing hippos. Fortunately, it was not in her hearing, and I forbade him to ever say it again! She was so cute!
