On birth control pills, bleeding a week before period..?

Not sure if I'm experiencing breakthrough bleeding/an early period/implantation bleeding...
I had sex with my boyfriend a week ago and about three days later started spotting/lightly bleeding.. there's no flow or anything, just blood every time I wipe but the blood is bright red like period blood.
I'm due to get my period in about five days (on Tuesday) -- I just don't know if my body is whacked bc I've been studying for college exams, and have been extremely stressed out this month..
Any ideas?

Could be pregnancy, could be stress, could be just your body getting used to the birth control if this is a fairly new one for you.
