who do the most procreating, is a hindrance to our advancement as a race?

wouldn't we be better off if successful, proven individuals were having more children then the lazy ( not generalizing)

it's like were mass producing bad genes for the human race and only making a few good ones in comparison.

what ...survival of the fittest, not quiet.

you see my point maybe?

Most generally, I agree with you. But it is the poor and uneducated that have the least access to birth control and the least common sense to use it (in general), so that is why they are the ones who are procreating out of control. And their children learn by their parents' example. . .just a sad, vicious cycle.

Possibly. But you fail to realize that humans have survived thus far by survival of the fittest (meaning you just stay alive long enough to procreate). Since people can live on welfare they can still procreate.

Also, mother nature has been the deciding factor as who/what survives and it is usually the strongest not the smartest/most intelligent.

So no matter how smart we get it may not matter because our bodies need to be strong enough to compete against others and combat diseases.

You ever read about how smallpox decimated the Native American population when the Europeans came to North America? Maybe HIV/AIDS is doing the same thing now again as mother nature's way of keeping the population down.

Either way, the strongest (or the luckiest) has been the one to survive so far.

I see your point and completely agree with you. The problem is that successful people no longer want or need to have many children. They feel bad about bringing children into so fcuked-up a world as ours, realize that children are no longer "necessary," etc. The poor will continue to procreate wildly because of a lack of information/birth control/etc., while the successful will not.

I hope this made some modicum of sense...I'm sort of drugged up right now.

Unfortunately, there are very few laws governing procreation here in America.

If you're interested, there's a very funny movie about the logical conclusion of such a trend -- it's called "Idiocracy", and was written by Mike Judge ("Office Space")....

I think that you should have to pass a test before you can have kids. If you get pregnant and can't pass the test you should have to give up the baby.
