The last sunspot maximum occured in 2001, when do we expect the next to occur ?

The cycle is 11 years, so 2012. But... I have heard that the next one will be a little sooner, as in late 2011. I don't know why they are predicting a shorter cycle.

Currently we are in a very very low solar minimum. The sun is very quiet, and has been for most of several months, now.

If the sun is going to make it to a maximum in less than 4 years, then it better hurry up and start making sunspots (LOL).
