How long has your lil' girl been sick. All the other suggestions are excellent from the other ladies about the Vick's any everything. Do consider that if you little one has been sick for a week or more that more may be going on. I took my 2 yr old son to the doctor yesterday because the home treatment of the cold was not working. The doctor said he had an ear infection which often is a result of a cold. Hope this helped.

I would say before rubbing Vick's or anything on your baby(precious life) i had a similar problem with one of my twins and the best thing i ever did was take her to the DOCTOR i had no idea how full her lungs really were until they had me sign a paper to aspirate her lungs that had really thick mucus. Then they gave my baby two RX.(prescriptions) a brochodialator (little mask with chamber that you spray into twice so her lungs could open up and another similar mask to give FLO-VENT medication so she could continue to breath and cough less. you never know what the problem is especially at this very young age I suggest see a doctor first and always if its that bad. as far as a vaporizer is concerned ask the doctor which one you should use a dehumidifier ( if too much humidity in room) or a humidifier ( if room is too dry)

i'm sure you know this, but please do not give your daughter any cold medicine or honey. you can get baby vick's vapo rub. put it on her chest, back, and sides, and then cover her with a onesey (did i spell that right?) also, put some on the bottom of her feet, and cover them with socks. it soaks into the body through the feet faster than anywhere else. you can also bathe your baby in johnson's vapo bath at night before bed. and if you live in a dry climate, get a cool mist humidifier. those things are awesome, and it will help soothe your baby's congestion. and don't forget to get the bulb and suck the snots out of your daughter's nose. oh, and just so you know, if you take her to the emergency room just for congestion and a cough, the doctors wont do anything because they can't give cold medicine to babies at all. good luck, and it took my daughter about a weeks before she seemed to feel completely better. the cold we got was pretty bad, so i know how you feel. i hope i helped.

Vicks Baby Rub is just about the only thing. Try lathering it on the soles of her feet and putting socks on. It helps the cough a lot (even on adults!). Also, put a vaporizer in her room, or wherever she is spending the bulk of her time. You can use an aspirator if her nose is stuffed or saline drops but not much more.

Give her lots of cuddles and love and she'll get better soon!

I suggest an age-old Indian remedy for very young ones ( I warn you , please don't use Vicks on the tender skin of a small baby).Take small bowl; keep a few pieces of garlic ready, get the gas burner on......keep the small bowl with 4 ounces of Olive Oil and allow this to be almost ( I said 'almost' , not exactly that much ) ready for frying any stuff...........put the garlic in it and allow the garlic to be fried at low flame for about 2 minutes.now , it's ready.Switch off the burner.
Keep this mix as medicine for 5 days.....to be used twice a day.....once in the mid -day and again @night before he is about to sleep. Just rub the oil-mix (just few drops on the chest when this is jut a bit warm ) on the chest and on the back (just behind the chest)............. rubbing should be slow and not vigorous.....the motion should be clockwise and anti clockwise on both the chest and the back.
I know , nobody likes the smell of garlic. You have to withstand this smell for a period of 2/3 days(generally). So, you are to bear with it for those days.
Later on, just do message the chest and the back of the child with warm oil(just a bit warm) for as many days as you like just before his bath with more mix of this (garlic and Olive Oil .....fried together.....and, keeping the mix ready in a bottle).
the whole winter will be over and the child will not suffer from cough & cold during these months.

use the Vicks baby vapor rub...take her into a steamy shower--that will help. The aspirator and saline drops will help break up what is in her nasal area (if she doesnt have a runny nose, then the cold is staying in her body--you want her to have a runny nose, to get everything out)

Keep her hydrated--maybe give her some pedialyte for one of her feedings (if she is all mucousy, the liquid will help break that all up) If you are breastfeeding, just continue feeding her as normal..she will stay hydrated from what she gets from you.

Good luck--if she gets congested, I would take her to the her dr and see what they say...you dont want one that young to get a chest cold.

Vicks BABY rub only at this age. Also, try a vaporizer in her room or if it's a small room those Vapor plug ins (I think by Pedia care). We used to take my daughter into a steamy hot bathroom with one of those suda care shower soothers in it to loosen her up. Push lots of fluids and just monitor her closely. Best of luck to you! Hope she's feeling better soon

specific you provides calpol from 3 months yet it extremely is in simple terms for a intense temperature flow to the chemist and notice in case you are able to your infant some tixylix for the cough different than that attempt carvol pills on a hanky or towel tied to the cot for ease of respiration. yet consistently examine the lower back to be sure you have the excellent stuff for the excellent age

Do not use viks vaporub too much on her tender skin.
Are you breast feeding her? Does she allergic to anything (food, water, dust (even mattress, blanket also matters).
If you have any senior women in your circle, ask for their advice.
Consult a paediatrician (child cpecialist). It would be better option.

vicks (to help cough), humidifier (because dry air irritates a cough), saline drops (to loosen mucous), and a steamy shower (not in the water of course) can help clear your baby's airways.

a lot of comfort will be needed. hope your little one feels better.
