Foundation can also be referred to as "base" makeup. It is called this because it is usually the basis or base of make up application.
Recently, the popularity of mineral cosmetics has risen dramatically. Brands such as Everyday Minerals, Bare Escentuals and Alima cosmetics all have faithful fans who believe them to be a more pure option to conventional foundation.

Hi- foundation is a tinted base for your makeup. It is makeup in a certain sense, but most agree that it should be used as a base for your blush etc. Hence the name "foundation". There are different types- like tinted moisturizer, cream foundation, liquid foundation, powder foundation etc. Each of them is applied to your face using a brush, a sponge or even your fingers.The formulation you choose would depend on the type of look that you're going for. Foundation should be used to create a good canvas on which to apply the rest of your makeup- it's not supposed to mask or change your natural complexion but rather enhance it by concealing minor imperfections. Depending on the type that you choose you could make your skin look less oily, give your skin more radiance, look like you're wearing absolutely nothing-there's a zillion different types out there. It is the base of makeup that you put on first. It is a liquid or a compact liquid that will turn to powder once it dries. It helps even out your complexion. It is the same color of your face and has to be blended and applied evenly.

Its a makeup you apply mostly to your flaws, some of ppl use it for wall 2 wall carpeting (hairline to chin) which your not suppose 2 do.

yes its make-up and it is the base coat of it. its all the liquids and compact powders you see in the make-up aisle cuz there's like a billion different kinds. its the one thing that you put all over your face before mascara, eyeshadow, blush, etc..

It's a cream that you put on your face to cover up blemishes, acne and blah blah blah... personally i don't like to use it on a daily basis because it can seriously dry your skin. I use it on special occasions when i want my face to look smooth.
