Madonna? Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

I think everyone who is arguing the fact that it is the ROCK and ROLL Hall of Fame should check out my link below. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and see the inductee's from the beginning. The list is composed of people who have influenced music greatly. The list contains names of GREAT Rock and Roll bands but also includes names like James Brown and Ray Charles. They deserve to be on that list but they are represent soul music more than just Rock.

kinda, but she is a pop icon and strangely enough very influential to todays pop music. I think we get caught up on the name "Rock n' Roll" Hall of Fame. There are many non rock groups who are exibited there. I am not 100%, but I would say that the Temptations and Dianna Ross are in there and they are not rock n roll. If Pearl Jam were to make the Rock n Roll hall of fame or The Red Hot Chili Peppers we wouldnt cry because they Rock. When we think of Madonna though we think ugh this stuff sucks.

No, it's not. Why would it be? Because she took charge of her sexuality and was a trailblazer for female artists? Sure, she might have relied on her breasts and her image too much, but that's what made her so provocative and in essence, rock n' roll. Who else would have the chutzpah to release an electronica album when she was 40 and should have been doing adult-contemporary ballads.
I think the reason she's hated so is because she's still successful and deserves to be there.....

Instead of getting caught up in name, why don't you actually go there...
Hank Williams isn't rock, but he's there... Sex Pistols were inducted and pretty much told them to stick the award up their ___'s... Aretha Franklin isn't rock, she's motown & guess what she is there also...
Influential artists, if we based it on rock only, then 25 years from now with the talent that we have today, the inductee list will be very small, cause there ain't much talent out there that will be around for the next 5 years..

They passed up so many good artists to let her in. I think they are just trying to attract the Madonna faithful, and their donation money, to the Hall.

That is utterly and completely gross. She deserves to be in there as much as Britney Spears.
And I think people have forgotten that it's called the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME!! Not the music hall of fame!!
