Life is no cheaper than it ever has been. Look far back in history, and you will find how little life meant to those tossing it away. Take the Romans. The term decimate comes from the commander of his legions taking a legion and killing one in ten for the cowardice of that legion. Killing off all the Indians, men, women and children just to be rid of the "problem". We see more of it now because we have better communication and more people.

Because people think that life is a contest instead of a journey. Whoever makes it to the finish with the most money, the most fame and the most power, wins. If someone can't run anymore, then it's too bad for them, and they just get bypassed or trampled.
I believe that life is more than what you have to live with, it's what you have to live for. It's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in the years.

The extreme cost of petrol is a trademark of an oligopoly of the petroleum marketplace - in different words, few sellers can set extreme fees mutually and theres no the place else to show to purchase. the answer you could think of is for the gornment to help introduce a extra aggressive marketplace by making use of making it much less complicated to pass into the petroleum marketplace whether ths isn't interior the final pastimes of the USA and for this reason no rely whos in can charge, very own pastimes aside they won't replace the condition of a extreme tax sales generator. Its not "gotten" that way.... Its always BEEN that way. Human beings are inherently flawed by design!!! A cheap existance is just one of many results of that. If we were made in "Its" image, all one can hope for now is that the next time around or whatever replaces us will actually be something to be proud of. Actually have worth, value, not be corrupt or have the ability of becoming that way. Flawed by DESIGN. Isn't it great!?

I think that if people would put as much faith in themselves and everyone around them as they do God this world might just make it, I don't think it's that nothing doesn't matter it's that we don't matter to each other anymore! wheres the love people! get out and hug your neighbor today! LOL seriously we are in this world together at this moment and no one cares, even in a crowed room we still feel alone it doesn't have to be that way!

we are in the era of "about me" society, everyone is on the plane that THE WORLD is MY OYSTER, no one is looking out for anyone but themself! I am sick and tired of the innocent children suffering because of poor parenting, and especially the mothers, WHEN you become a MOM, everything else in your life is meaningless, your children come BEFORE any man, and YOU have to be responsible, you are raising someone that will grow up and become a part of society...its a huge deal. I wish people felt more kinship toward others, I see nothing but selfishness and ego abound, its pretty sad....

Oh, I think everyone cares deeply about something! But it is often difficult for people to express what matters to them, especially since we live in a culture that encourages a surface appearance of cavalier nonchalance, casual disregard, or superficial sentimentality. A lot of people accordingly develop an exterior with all the emotional depth of a TV commercial—but I think it’s a mistake to assume that their interior reality is equally shallow. It’s just that our culture doesn’t encourage people to really discuss their deeper concerns. Except online, of course. Oddly, it’s easier to share your innermost thoughts with a whole Web of strangers than it is to talk to people who know you well.

Good question. I don't think this is a universal condition, I mean I don't think all cultures are experiencing it currently. Our "western civilization" culture is experiencing it because we value money over everything else, led by non-human corporations. Corporations are interested in profits above all else, and so the individual people in them are devalued and the individual people who get in the way of their profits are devalued and so life has gotten cheap. This is the opposite of how it should be.

In general the more people there are, the less each of them is worth... unless it's someone who can do special things that most of the rest can't do. A few people have significant value for that reason.

People care about things. Just look at fanatic Ron Paul fans for example. Perhaps some feel they cannot make change in this large world.
