I'm an older brother to a 15-nearly 16 year old male.
We've shared a room for a long time, but several days ago, I was only kind of half asleep and noticed him masturbating by torchlight, In our room. I didn't say anything and just rolled over and went back to sleep, I think he must have stopped because he asked if I was awake when I rolled over, whether or not he kept going I don't know.
I've been doing it since I was 13, no doubt he's been doing it just as long, He's walked in on me doing it a few times by accident, And we've both seen each other naked dozens of times, He's also told me he does it, and I've never really batted an eye to any of it, but for some reason, this really gave me a smack in the face.
I still don't know whether to say anything in case I embarress us both. I know there's nothing wrong with it but actually seeing him doing it has me gobsmacked 4 some reason.
what would u do? how would u feel?

I don't actually know what it feels like, being an only child, but what you've run against is called a bonding mechanism, the force that keeps siblings from thinking of each other in a sexual way. It causes a stronger reaction in some than in others, for some no reaction at all (like your brother maybe). That's why you feel so uncomfortable, anyway, more than likely.
This is something you're going to have to work out between you. Ideal would be separate bedrooms, but that's probably not possible for you. Next is confining the masturbation to the bathroom, although beds are infinitely more comfortable. I don't know if you can get used to being aware of when your brother is masturbating or not, otherwise you should probably ask him to please not do it around you because it makes you uncomfortable. In any case, talk it out and work it out.

He's probably been doing it 4 ages, u just haven't noticed, I share with my brother. he jacks off, while i'm in the room, not much but it happens, and vice versa, Maybe we're just old enough to understand each other that way.
I never feel wierd about it, if we did it together, that might be a little wierd, but hey. he's only a youngy leave him to it, u said he's walked in on u, now its ur turn.

If you think it is ok, then let him know that without brining it out completely. Tell him how it made you feel, but let him know you do it to still.... make a brothers only rule where you cover up if you are.... and try to be quiet...
no doubt he is as embarrassed about it as you are, and there really is no need to be... just think how it would be if he had a blowup or a real girl and was doin it in the same room as you... it could be worse...

Let me tell you a funny story that answers your question. In health we were learning about sex. One boy asked if it's okay to masturbate. The teacher said it was normal for people to masturbate. Another kid asked what masturbating is. Another kid answered the question saying it's what a person does when they're desperate. I'm not being mean to you I just thought it was funny. The main point is that masturbating is normal.

Either ignore it (pretend you have a mutual agreement not to say anything if you happen to catch the other masturbating).
Or, ask him to keep it more private. Not do it when you are in the same room or when there is chance of you walking in (and you should do the same ofcourse).

you said yourslef tht you know he did it and thatyou do it so i dodt get what the problem is, if your embarssed maybe tell him to do it when your out but if you both know that you do it then its not that much of a big deal, i think that you only shocked cos hes your younger brother and that you maybe are shocked that he woudl do that when you were there, i wouldnt say anything unless i wanted to tell him to do it another room but i wouldnt mention it and i would feel slightly embarssing and that it
