Really, really, hurt. I am told that I am too sensitive, and I believe it. So, when I try to help someone I generally put my heart into it.
I once help a client out (on a psych / social worker level), and I got really involved professionally in assisting him, because I saw great potential for him to turn his life around.
He was delusional at times (for real ) and at some point became fixated enough to believe that he was in love with me, he reported this to another staff, and I almost lost my license to practice. I WAS DEVASTATED!

Just like I do today. It's HIS daughter's birthday. He doesn't work and bought her NOTHING... even though his parents give him money. I bought her an Aeropostle sweater set, and some hand-painted 'Daisy Plates' she wanted for her new kitchen. I wasn't invited to go have cake at Nanny's (his mother and father's house which is about 10 blocks from my house). I feel hurt, bewhildered, stunned, used, sad, and ready to just end the whole relationship. That is an example of a good intention that backfired... today.

Happens every day for me, what's to get excited about? I feel like I should apologize and then I do.
