My toilet has been clogged for about a week. I actually have two plungers, but I'm suffering from a crippling combination of laziness and apathy. When I flush, the bowl fills with water and drains completely by the next day. Is human excrement water soluble enough that the problem will eventually correct itself or will the maintenance man be left with the task of unclogging the commode after I move out in the summer? Is there a possibility that this could effect my security deposit?

The toilet really should be unclogged- especially if you are still using it. The plunger should do it, unless there is something else stuck in there. It may need to be snaked. I would get this taken care of soon and definitely before you move out. I wouldnt doubt that if they notice the toilet not working it may affect your security deposit

A toilet clog will only get worse if left unattended. The liquids are slowly seeping through the solids now but will eventually stop altogether. It only takes a couple of seconds to plunge it and might save a toilet overflow which nobody wants. It won't wait for the summer.

How are you living with the stench?!? Use the plunger, already!
RID-X poured into the toilet might also help, although this is used more for septic tanks, rather than public sewer. It has tiny microbes that eat the poo.
I'm assuming that you're connected to the public sewer since you mentioned that you live in an apartment. BTW, it will effect your security deposit if it doesn't work like it did when you moved in...

The alternative is to go to your neighbor's or a friend's house and use their water closet, or reach down and unplug it by hand. Or you could get a pipe snake, or possibly a fire cracker, either would most likely remove the clog, and possibly parts of the toilet with it.

Get a toilet snake at Lowe's or Home Depot. They range from $8 to $45.

POUR A LITRE OF BREACH DOWN IT, leave it for an hour, then get a old mop & ram it down the toilet then flush & do the same again..100% guarantee this will work...happy lazy plunging.
