Thanks to everyone for your posts - they were all pretty helpful although I have experimented and found a really good way of getting the wax off the glass - WD40! Just spray on the wax and it comes off really easily. I then used window cleaner to get rid of the grease.

Place a piece of absorbant paper over the wax and run an iron over it. The wax will melt and be absorbed by the paper.

Im not sure if this is the best way ....but it's the way I've always dealt with it. Use a hair dryer and let the wax melt into oil and then remove it with an old rag. It will take about 3-4 times depending on how oil based the candle was.

A little heat will do it. Use a hair blow dryer on a low setting to warm the wax a bit and it should come right up with a scrape of your finger nail. wipe surface after removing majority of wax with a damp cloth.

If it's a common occurance get yourself a flat razor blade from an art shop and scrape it off, it wont damage the glass.
Then use pretty much any solvent to get rid of the residue.
For a professional approach get some glass cleaner from a company called bohle.

If it is a big spot totally stuck to your glass table, don't use anything sharp to try to get it off. Try using a spatula or a plastic drywall scraper. Once you get off the bulk of the wax, then use a gentle cleaner to remove the excess. Windex or any generic glass cleaner will work.

You have to be careful, but get a lighter and put it about 5 inches away from the marks and light it on..when it starts to liquidize then quickly wipe it ff with a damp warm cloth.

I can not guaratee this will work.

I do NOT hold any responsiblity for any burnt glass tables.

Try ironing a towel on the table over the candle mark. But use an old towel (like a rag), because the heat will transfer the wax to the towel.

can get wax dissolving liquids, we use them in car detailing, specifically for wax, but you should be able to scrape it off, use soapy water, and a razor blade on its edge, running it slowly along the table surface.. also, something that suprised me, fine steel wool, wont harm automotive glass if kept wet, not sure about table glass though....

hello
Gently warm the table and wax with a hair dryer and use a kitchen tissue and wipe it, repeat this untill wax has gone, then wash with warm soapy water and shine
best of luck, josser
