for scheduling minor surgery 2 weeks before Christmas and taking medical leave til after the holidays? My poor coworker has it all to herself til I get back! That's what she gets for skipping out early every Friday for the past 6 months!

No!
If it hadn't been necessary you wouldn't have done it.
You can take some time for you and recover better with loved ones around. She shouldn't have been skipping out early. Pay back is a *itch!

Ha Ha Ha, no you should NOT be ashamed! I have seen the same thing where I used to work. People would continuously abuse the absentee policies and the coworkers always pay the price. When it's your turn to be out, enjoy your time out if you can!! You certainly have earned it.

Oh Goodie say the kitties. Mom is home, more treats and all those boxes to play in! Merry Christmas!
What goes around comes around. It's your turn to rest and enjoy. Does this mean you will be online more? Yippee!!!

No way!!! Surgery is important, and nobody at work knows it's minor. Let's keep it that way.

no! you have every reason to miss work. it's really nice of you to feel bad for her, but that's what coworkers are for...you cover for them and they should cover for you.
