Local buses will eventually replace standard I/O buses as the primary bus type in computers. what I want to know what is best, the Local bus or the standard bus, I know one of them is faster than the other but what is better.

I'm not entirely sure, but as far as I know, PC use to only have one common, local bus and they are shared between all devices which causes serious bottleneck

That's why they now devided the bus into local bus (front side bus, between CPU and memory), high speed bus and I/O bus. I/O bus are slow, but the bus speed is appropriate accodingly to the speed of the device.

I'm not sure if the architecture will change
