Who ever gave you this advice is NOT your friend.

Contrary to common belief diesel have LOWER octane and will probably kill your engine (basically it is kerosene) with detonation. But either way as the posters above said, just get some fuel injector cleaners. it is cheaper and safer.

Good Luck.

Nothing really, it might slow a car down depending on how much is in the tank, but its unlikely. There's a screen thing (think of it as a really small strainer) at the end of a fuel pump that stops most larger items from getting sucked into the fuel system and secondly, there's a fuel filter that, in theory, cleans out what the little screen didn't. It's more annoying than anything else because eventually, you should drop the gas tank and dump it out, but it won't destory an engine.

David, I couldn't let your question slide by. Go to any NAPA store and pick up a 16 oz. bottle of 3M Total Fuel System Cleaner and dump the contents in your fuel tank with a maximum of 16 gallons of gasoline.

This is bar none the very best product on the market today to clean not only fuel injector nozzles but also throttle bodies, intake manifolds, valves and most importantly combustion chambers. It's a little pricey @ $9.75 a bottle but you'll be entirely satisfied with the results.

NO NO NO. Do you want to buy new fuel injectors and a fuel pump and fuel filter..This will completely screw your car fuel system and clyinder heads. Diesel fuel is alone for Diesel.

Lucus Oil makes a great fuel injector cleaner that you put in your gas tank... I use it on both of my cars. look at their website...

I've done this in the past, but it's usually 1 quart diesel to 10 gallons of gasoline. It works fine. You can also get away with using kerosene for this, as that's what most of those "fuel system cleaner and lubricants" are.

No, Try to add Techron to your fuel tank. It seems to work pretty good. If they are really bad you will need to flush them.
