I love it. Those are two of my favorite names separately, never thought to put together.

No....switch it around and name your son Drew or Andrew John. Ainsley is a very difficult name to pronounce and it could be thought of as a girls name.

Which gender?

I do quite like Ainsley, but as a unisex place name/surname, I'd pair it with something clearly masculine or feminine, rather than informal, equally-unisex nickname Drew.

Not that it's completely necessary to make gender apparent -- after all, he or she will simply be "Ainsley," no middle name, on most occasions -- but it's nice to offer a gender-specific alternative just to give the child an option, should they ever want one. Ainsley Catherine, for example, might one day wish to go by Catherine or Kate. Likewise, Ainsley Gregor might opt for Gregor or simply Greg at some point. It's nice to give them that choice. ;)

Ainsley is pretty, BUT it might get shortened to Ains, so if you don't care for that, you'd have to correct people or live with it.
Drew is interesting for a girl- I have a boy cousin with this name so tend to think of it as boyish, but realize names like Ryan now are used for girls too. My cousin named her baby girl Ava Ryan Smith, about a year ago.

No, not for either gender, I agree with other posters that's boyish. Ainsley is a surname, and this sounds like a newspaper report of an artist.

Not Ainsley, but maybe Arianna Drew

I like Ainsley but I think Drew is too masculine with it.

Just because other people have made the mistake of using masculine names on girls, doesn't mean that everyone should start doing it. It's absolutely ridiculous.
"Well there are a lot of people doing it now so..."
There are also a lot of people suicide bombing bus stations.
Think about your child, please.

Ryan, Drew, Madison, and McKenzie, are all male names.

Ainsley is whiny, Drew is masculine.
Not a great choice.

Adalie Beatriu has a similar feel.

Even though it's turning into one of the popular trendy names like Hayden and Peyton, I can't say I don't like it. I just wouldn't use it, personally.

That being said, I like the combination!

Very unisex. Difficult spelling. Is this for a boy or girl?
