The majority of people I think just "go with the flow". It's what they know. Some people do it for the gifts - especially to make their children happy. And a handful may actually do it for Jesus. Then there are those - like me - who do not want to partake in anything pagan or unscriptural, so they don't celebrate it at all.

well i think it was at first about the meaning but that's just gone out the window...when you have children, it's for the gifts and material things...but i guess when you get older it's just a go with the flow type of thing b/c you really can't fight it when all you hear on the radio is christmas music and all you see in decorations! Merry Christmas!

I think that many people celebrate Christmas because it's just tradition, but people take it as just being for gifts, and food. The real reason for Christmas (Christ's Birth) has been lost for many people.

It depends on your beliefs..
Non-Christians don't think of it for Christ's birth..but just a day to celebrate and be around family and friends..with good food etc.

I'm Christian..I also think it's a day to celebrate with family and friends etc..but it's also a day to remind me of Jesus' birth and what he has done for me in my life.

I think a big part of it for most people is that they enjoy the tradition. I know I do.
