I really need some help. I have had headaches for about a month that are killers. I have already had an MRI. I am just trying to think. I would really appreciate it if you could list all the causes of headaches you can think of.

EDIT: It would be better if you drink fluids that don't contain sugar.
Don't give up on a search for a reason for your headaches. There will be one doctor out there who will be able to help you.

Tension
Stress
Dehydration
Blood Clot
Tumor

The two most common headaches for most people are Tension headaches and Migraine headaches. Migraines are caused by an enlargement of blood vessels and the release of chemicals from nerve fibers that coil around the blood vessels. If your doctor treats you for Tension headaches and the cause is really Migraines then you will continue to have bad headaches. Other type of headaches are in the minority and should be screened by your doctor. I suspect you have either a Tension or Migraine headache only because those are the most common types. Get treatment for both types if necessary. Did you also say you're going to have a second MRI? Is that really necessary since the first one should have disclosed any other known causes. Now secondary headaches, such as meningitis, subarachnoid hemorrhage, severe high blood pressure, epidural or subdural hematomas, can cause serious brain damage. I don't mean to alarm you but timely and accurate diagnosis of secondary headaches is crucial. Special blood tests, brain scans, CT scans or MRI, and lumbar puncture (spinal tap) are necessary to establish these diagnoses. Since most doctors don't wish to order all these tests for every headache that comes in the door it's very important for your doctor to listen to you for all the details about when, how, duration, intensity, and location for your headaches. I hope this info is helpful and that your doctor gets to the bottom of your headaches very soon.

Dehydration (drink plenty of liquids), not eating properly (fruits, grains, vegetables), not getting enough sleep (go to bed and wake up at the same time each day), stress (try doing yoga or some other relaxing activitity), or a sinus infection or some sort of cold. Good luck! Also caffeine helps with headaches try drinking tea or another caffeinated beverage...

Stress, which can affect your head neck and temples. Migraine, which makes you feel a pulsating feeling or throbbing, and can make everything on your head hurt. And can sometimes make you feel nausea. Movement sucks as well. Sinus head aches, that make you feel like your eyes are going to pop out, your nose , mouth and jaw feel the pressure as well. Sadly I have had every one of these.
