The Earth, just like every other thing in the Universe, is in a constant state of change. Change is the only constant that is absolute.
Yes ice caps and stuff are melting at an alarming rate, but that rate is relative to the observation techniques and technologies that we now employ.
Could we stop an Ice Age? no
Could we stop a war in a tiny country that is the size of Arizona? no
Can we save every Human that has a now(pus/minus) twenty year old disease that was once thought to be a male homosexual plague? no
Prices will rise, resources will decline as population doubles now every 15.8 years. Taxes will certainly go up. Politicians will vote themselves pay raises as the Disabled Veteran remains in a beurocratic tangle of paper work.
The World is either to be joined as one, or we shall all fall by divisiveness.
To think that the actions or inactions of the Humans on this planet will or could have a positive effect on a climactic event only demonstrates a humans visions of grandeur and ignorance at the same time.

Conference is a sham, third world and newly developing countries want U.S. ,Canada,Japan, and E.U. to bear the brunt of the economic impact of emission reductions.Of course this will increase the cost of manufactured goods made in these countries and therefore make products produced in third world developing countries as well as China more cost effective.

The major countries are putting together a fund to help poor countries deal with the cost of anti-pollution technology. The US is not the only ones paying into it, the ones you mentioned are too. That's all Rush Jr..

Instead of criticizing about this, just fix it up. You have to a step( even if it is a baby step) to fix this up why not now, instead of talking about it and wasting tax payers money. Who won't or will sign the papers, those countries who want to do this just do it,every little bit helps. I want this world here for my ancestors to be. Maybe a woman should do this job?

China for one is a far worse polluter,no envivromental laws there and Brazil is no better.

YES! The US alone uses 30% of the world's resources and only has 5% of the population. We waste more than any other country and then condemn other countries who want to do the same thing. We all should really try to live more simplistically.

You bet they should.. and they should be very ashamed.

It should not be this silly attitude of do what I say not what I do.

i am particularly ashamed of Canada.. before this Bush loving prime minister they were at least heading int he right direction.. they used to at least try to listen to the Canadian people.. but now.. Harper is a Bush clone and listens only to himself.

Please don't blame the Canadian people.. we will get him out of office as soon as possible.!
