Both Committees that dealt with this issue now believe they were LIED to....

Is there any credibility left in the last investigation?

Would you rather believe a comfortable lie that most people believe to be true, or know a horrible truth that most people believe to be a lie?

As evidenced by most responses to this question, most Americans lack the critical thinking abilities needed to understand the uncomfortable realities involved in a new 911 investigation.

It is far easier to believe that a number of "foreign" instigators (no matter how well linked to individuals in the US government) "hate freedom" and decided to murder Americans because of this hatred.

They know nothing of the Project for a New American Century, the Downing Street Memo, or the Carlyle group meeting on the morning of 911. They could care less about the Bin Laden flight allowed out of the US, back to Saudi Arabia, while all other flights were grounded. They are unable to piece together the connections between Chaney, Halliburton and the no bid Iraq contracts. They haven't seen the numerous pictures of GWB and the Saudi Royal family, and they don't remember that 2 years ago GWB tried to pass the Dubai Ports deal, giving control of all US ports to a small, wealthy Middle Eastern country.

In short, no matter how many unanswered questions there are about the events surrounding 911, they cannot match the apathy and ignorance of the majority of the American public, therefore, there will be no new investigation.

The last investigation was right on the money, so there's no need for a new one.

I haven't seen a single, solitary SPECIFIC problem with the 9-11 Commission Report," only vague, general complaints that the investigation was somehow, in some unnamed way, "no good."

To begin a new investigation, one has to know what SPECIFICALLY is wrong with the Commission Report.

Lacking a specific problem, I assume the report is fine.

Moreover, the 9-11 Commission was established by an Act of Congress. It called for a bi-partisan committee (Dems & Repubs & there WERE Dems on the Commission). As I said, I don't know of any specific problems with their work.

=========================
Some points are worthwhile:

Yes, it’s true that certain Saudi’s, some being royalty, were given escorts in leaving the country right after 9/11. Actually, many persons were.

It doesn’t mean a thing.

The Saudis are our very close allies in the Middle East especially Saudi royalty. They allow us to maintain a military base in their country.

Of course we allowed some Saudis to leave. We knew them, & they are our close friends.

Simply because Osama is from Saudi Arabia doesn’t mean that every Saudi is our enemy. Unfortunately, Osama did originate from Saudi Arabia, but we still are close with ruling monarchy.

No, there never was any credibility in the last investigation, and the reason we haven't had a new investigation so far, is because the government has a lot to hide. But, if enough people...a growing number of people, keep pushing for it, I believe that we will have to get one eventually. It will have to be totally thorough, and totally independent, and totally unbiased. *sm*

what's the point?! The fact is that we should get our butts out of the middle east, find alternative fuels, and become more interdependent instead of creating all of these global enterprises in places where people just do not like our culture. 911 was really horrible, but honestly, why are we all shocked and horrified that this happened? It was inevitable! I think this was a wake-up call to all of us to make sure that we vote and pay attention as to how we interact with the rest of the world. Some cultures just do not like us and we should not impose our though-process or ideas on them. Leave them to their own devises. Let them keep their oil. We have ingenuity on our side. We'll think of something.

No but will there be a new investigation? Only if the people who believe the government's version of events grow a brain will it happen.

Credibility no longer exist in government. 911 will go the way of the JFK murder.

These investigation are useless. They are driven by an agenda and they will come to a conclusion based on that agenda. If you put Rosie O'Donnell at the head of a 9/11 investigation I guarantee that the finding would be that it is all Bush's fault.
