And i've just heard that she have lived for a long time with her partner, some producer, and that was know by gossip, but never confirmed by the actress...

Jodie Foster is gay. Its kinda been an open secret for the last 15 years. Its nice that now she feels comfortable enough to come out publicly.

It's still a rumor, I have read the direct quote of her award speech, she makes no reference to this "partner" as a life partner or a lesbian lover of any sort. She simply thanks her by name for sticking by her through all that she's been through. I don't know whether she is or is not gay, but it shouldn't make much of a difference in my life so I don't care. After all, I think she deserves her privacy, as little of a shred as she can get, considering she is still a human being and not some fictional character for random strangers to discuss about.

Good for her. Yet who cares at the same time. To each there own. I think what ever makes you happy is what matters. Didn't she just adopt also?
