i am on disability,married,own (paying on) a house,a lot of credit cards from when I used to be able to work and used to have good credit,used credit cards to pay bills while SS disability claim was processing,can't afford to pay with current income from SS,can't afford to file bankruptcy,do not want to lose house

You didn't say if you were able to work or not. If you can, then get any sort of job you're able to make extra money. If your spouce doesn't work, then perhaps they should. If your spouce does work, then perhaps they need to get a 2nd job to make more money.

If they have a judgment against you they can legally garnish your salary, ss payments, and even put a lien against any property you own. I would try to work out a plan with them ASAP.
