I just purchased some sonic rodent repellers and plugged them in.. i dont have rodents but i like the peace of mind these are supposed to give..

As Soon as i plugged them in they make a tick like noise every few seconds is this normal?......

Also my next door nieghbour in my building has a pet rat would this effect it?...

Sounds to me like you have very good hearing. I can hear them too but my family cannot.
This is what the rats hear and try to stay away from as well. The sound bothers me enough to keep me out of the basement of my mother's house.
The rat next door shouldn't be bothered, but what the heck, he's a rat for heaven's sake.

It ticks like that so the rodent will think it's a bomb and then run away! LOL

Actually, I've never bought a rodent repeller but I heard they don't work.

The one in our garage doesn't tick (but it doesn't work either--at least not on the red squirrels that live in there). It should not affect your neighbor's pet because the repellent sound (if there is one) isn't supposed to be able to travel through walls.

Please don't take any offense, but in part I have to agree with answer one.

Also without wanting to disturb any peace; If they offer you that then be happy.

That kind of product has been marketed for years, and while it may not DRIVE up your electric bill, it's also likely it won't DRIVE away critters either.

Hopefully you "Acted Right Now" and got TWO for the advertised price.
