Has anyone had a glass break sensor installed by ADT on a sliding glass door, made by the company Honeywell?

All feedback on this question is welcome. I am looking for honest information on how you felt about the reliability of the product. Did it actually make you feel more secure in your home? Was it sensitive enough to where you though it was a quality product? Thanks and have a good day.

Your first mistake was letting ADT into your home. Next time engage the services of a local alarm company, they are better trained, better paid, and have a better attitude. Also with local monitoring, and installation, your money stays within the community, not to some corporate conglomerate. BTW Honeywell makes quality stuff.

You can buy a set of sensors like this for around 20.00 for a set of 6 in them...ADT services are not what they are made up to be.I was painting a house for A client that was away on vacation and they gave me thier access code on the pad...They had ADT services..I made A mistake on the code first time i went in..alarm went off ..and no one ever showed up or was the police alerted to the alarm by them.. I actually called my clients..left a voice mail..they called back 15 minutes later(alarm still going off)..gave me the correct code and I reset it... Still..no one was ever alwerted to this alarm

all they would need to do is place a pry bar under the door and lift it up to unhook the latch. you could buy a step pin latch and install it on the outer door at the bottom of the door latch side and drill a hole into the metal base track for security, provided that doing so wouldn't interfere with the screen door, and it shouldn't interfere with the stationary door. by the way, if you are thinking that a closet pole in the track on the inside will stop break-ins, i have opened sliding doors for people who locked their keys inside, the wind blew the door shut on her. all i had to do was lift the inner door with a flat bar, insert a scratch awl in between the two doors, and flip the pole out of the way, lower the door back down after i slid it past the latch. her baby was in the car seat inside on the floor, her purse and cell phone on the counter, and the husband was out of town. the toe latch, various latch bars, and other means are more secure, and worth the investment. good luck, hope this provides some insight and helps you decide what to do.

Glass break sensors especially from honeywell are fabulous. But only based on what sensitivity the technician set it at. You will not feel secure if it takes a semi driving through your door to set it off. The best way I always set my customers GB sensors is to get a set of keys with quite a few keys on it and jingle them quite violently. That should set off the sensor, if not it needs to bet a little lower until you achieve that answer with that method. Hope this helps.

I think it did the job, but my mistake was to sign up with ADT, biggest mistake, was stuck in a contract for 3 years. Never used the alarm because after we signed up we bought 2 german shepards I believe they're better then the stupid alarm systems.
