Yahoo China gives the government info (names addresses) on anonymus posters in China and helps the goverment of China to arrest pro democracy supporters. Chinese journalist Shi Tao was given 10 years in Jail for merely 'sending foreign-based websites the text of an internal Communist Party message. Reporters Without Borders said the message warned journalists of the dangers of social unrest resulting from the return of dissidents on the 15th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre, in June 2004.'[bbc]

This made me really angry and I'm about to cancel my yahoo account and have nothing more to do with them. What do other people think?

I am not saying China is right because I do not believe they are. However, China has laws and Yahoo does business there so they are subject to those laws. If Yahoo refused to give the US government information on someone who violated our laws, people would condemn them so we canty have it both ways. Of course I wouldnt do business with China to begin with thus wouldnt be subject to their laws

If you boycotted every company that has committed or cooperated with violations of human rights, you would pretty much have a very austere existence.

It seems rather interesting that you created this account to just ask this one question. Why would you create an account just to denounce it? Kind of akin to buying a Hummer H2, only to drive it straight to the the Toyota dealer and trading it in for a Prius to protest gas guzzing SUV's. Since it has been almost 2 years since the Yahoo/Chinese dissident story came to light, it looks like your saying, "Look at me, I'm protesting!"
