I have used Windows Movie Maker to make some AVI movies and when i try and upload them with youtube it takes around 10 minutes to get to 1% ... there has got to be a quicker way as i'm sure no one else would wait that long. Please write back, Thanks in advance.

The answer is simple. You create the movies in AVI video format which takes more space and is larger in size than other YouTube acceptable formats.Simply go to 'Make Movie' and save them as .WMV(movie file) or use Windows Media Player to play directly the output files after being created;while you play them in WMPlayer;just pause or stop the movie and go to File menu and Save As "FileName of Movie.mpg"i.e. give the extension as".mpg" in save as options. Thus the file sizes are reduced without loss in quality.Or it might be that your AVI files are larger than 10MB or longer than 10minutes00seconds.The best option is to create clips of about 9minutes 55 seconds;as I too use the same tool for uploading my videos on YouTube.

Depends on how long your video is too. Make the video shorter, make the picture size smaller, lower the quality (both audio and video), use a format other than avi if you can (avi is typically huge).
