when a friend of yours, that you know can't stand children, starts complimenting and praising your child in front of you because they think that's the way to butter you up because they want something from you?
May I add that I didn't choose to be her friend; she declared herself my friend when she had noone else.

thanks for your response guys.
Yes she is devious, thats just her way. I've told her straight if you want something just ask. I can either help you or I can't but don't go walking rings round me.
Don't you just hate it when people are not straight forward with you?

The woman may be lonely but if you don't like her then best to have nothing to do with her

Bonjour madam
Best thing is:
Remind her off her child up bringing by talking about your upbringing and what your mother says about you, etc.. therefore you will get an insight into her upbringing.
seems her parents wherent as much loving caring, i adore children, i am a single parent, my wife passed away.
My daughter is my world, and thats that.
as far as your friendship is concerned, you have to make her feel bad when she stries to put on ana act infront of you loving your kids etc.
Thats all!
it works believe me!
lol,
My daughters nearly 8 now, though shes maturer than most children.
She scares me sometimes, have a merry xmas
and stop worrying too much, thes ekind of people are sad, and need help, so be nice and try ok, thats the least you can do ok!
and if thats not enough then leav it
But dont be rude, or complasant
meery xmas, and make sure you get nice pressies for the kids
my daughters getting what she wants, always does, and i always get awhat i want, a trip to disney land paris with my brother his wife, kids and where spending part of xmasday at an orphanage my sister in law runs just outside paris.
enjoy your xmas

Probably.....if someone acts strangely and that praise is unusual, it might mean she wants something from you......
try to ask her how come she says that about your child while she doesn't like kids.
Well, if this seems to be a nice person you should give her a chance but if she bothers you and constantly acts strangely maybe 'cause she needs a favour, try to ignore her for a bit.

That would irratate the hell out of me!
Ignore this person, cut them out of your life if they are just going to use you like that!
OR alternatively, tell her that is not the way to keep friends

Ask her what she wants, and when she asks you what you mean, say that you know she hates kids and wonder why she has started heaping praise on yours.

You should always give people a chance, unless you feel they are particularly devious.
