Hello, I will be going to a game at the Edward Jones dome this weekend and I think we are going to be staying all night the night before. We were wanting to get some xmas shopping done, but I am completely lost in St. Louis. Does anyone know where I can shop or know of any decent hotels in that area? Or know of any easy routes to get to a shopping area? We will be coming from Illinois, North I-55. thanks!

No. Do NOT go to the shopping centre by the dome. It's almost completely deserted.

If you want to go shopping, I suggest you go to West County Mall. It's the BEST mall in St. Louis.

OMG I came back to put this in: St. Louis Galleria --» You HAVE to go. Their site is: http://www.stlouisgalleria.com/
They have directions and their address on there.

Also like the other guy said: Delmar Loop has very unique clothing stores. http://ucityloop.com/

Hope you enjoy your stay! If you're willing to spend some money the Chase Park Plaza hotel on Kingshighway is VERY nice but pricey. But since you're coming from I-55, there are LOTS of hotels downtown.

It'll be a good idea to search this in google: "Downtown St. Louis hotels". I did and here are some results I got:

wish I could give you specifics, but I'm still learning the streets myself. I'd say start at the St. Louis Visitors Center, listed below. Those are some nice people and will definitely help. You can also search at Yelp, a great local review site.

What kind of shopping are you looking for? There are a few malls in town that are pretty good - the St. Louis Galleria has a lot covered, there's also Plaza Frontenac, but that's more expensive. The Central West End has a few shops to hit up. For a younger crowd, try Delmar Blvd in the Loop area.

If you want to stay downtown, the Drury Inns are reasonable and very comfortable. We live here and put up out of town relatives there all the time. You can walk to the Dome from one of these Drury Hotels. I wouldnt recommend shopping downtown except for Macys. I would get on Highway 40 and get off at Brentwood and go north a block to the Galeria shopping mall. It has lots of good stores. Right accross Brentwood from the Galeria is another shopping center with stores like Crate and Barrel etc. Just south of Highway 40 on Brentwood is a shopping center with lots of other stores including a Target and Trader Joes. REI sports store is also on Brentwood. Enjoy your visit. Hope the snow doesnt spoil your plans.

The Galleria is nice it is right off Hwy 40 at Brentwood Blvd. If you are looking for something near the dome, forget it, there isnt anything good...union station is a joke do not waste you time....The only option you really have downtown would be some speciality shops on Washington Ave and Locust...

I don't know of any shops near the Rams Dome but you can drink Apple Cider Vinegar and drink plenty of water. Lot of people in your situation said that it helped them out.

It's snowy...and supposed to all weekend. You may want to go to Union Station downtown. Great building, more touristy stores. Less traveling on snow covered streets if it gets to be a real mess.

What are you looking for? Window shopping or real gifts?

Depending on your price range, there are many options for a hotel downtown. Here is a list to help you out with there location and prices

Shopping downtown is not that great. You would be better off to drive to a nearby mall.
