There's all kinds of other crooked *@&#!* going on right right now besides the use of steroids in professional sports- other things that will prove to be much more devastating to the welfare of people in this country than professional athletes who use performance enhancing drugs- and yet one senator apparently has the time to vigorously pursue steroids users and "bring them to justice". How can this possibly be, and why is this so important?

Suffering from roid rage?

The investigation is complete and the report is out. That's how timing works.

As the mother of a son who plays baseball and football, I think it is an extremely important issue due to the number of teen athletes on steroids.

For Barry Bonds, this is probably past due, since he took the hit for something that apparently is much more widespread.

Why should they be banned? Did MLB test everyone randomly? Are they absolutely sure they have all the culprits? Are the ones mentioned all guilty as implied? I think baseball should have pre-empted this whole sad episode but can you see how much more money baseball made during the steroid era? You and I payed for it and Bud Selig and other baseball functionaries can lament all they want but no one is being asked to give any money back and no one is calling for the resignation of the commish. Imagine if this happened in Korea or Japan. The commish will be gone before he can appoint a self-serving investigator to make it seem he cares or cared. To apologize to the fans baseball can afford to cut all ticket prices in half for a year and establish several charities to serve the public funded by 10% of players' salaries. Yeah, right!

Sen. George Mitchell is a retired senator. He was hired by the MBL Board of Directors some 20 months ago to get to the bottom of the steroid and performance enhancing drug problem in MBL.

Steroids are dangerous drugs even if they do enhance player's performance. They cause all kinds of physical as well as psychological problems with users ... cancer, death, violence and murder.

Not only is it unhealthy for players to use them but, pro players are heros to many young people. If the pros use steroids, then maybe it's a good thing for young peole to use them also. That's a big problem!

This is an issue for the sports federation, not for the gov't to deal with so closely. We are more concerned with the economy, health care, Iraq, and the road this country is taking as far as the environment is concerned. Politicians really need to focus on what matters first and foremost, not waste their time talking about trivial matters like gay marriage, flag burning, and steroid use.
