They can because this is America.
I agree with you, and I'd make the same argument about the illegals protesting for equal rights and free health care.
I guess you have to look at it from the view of that is what makes America America. People can choose to protest and argue with whatever belief they have. We are not controlled by a society and Government who wants to kill and torture it's own people for not believing in a certain God or for disagreeing with them.

You would get shot over there because theirs is not a free country. They can protest in your country because yours is "free". You have to take the good with the bad. I would rather have the protests and know that I can protest back, than have us all be silenced by the government.

When you have a free country, you unfortunately have to deal with such drivel. It's sad that those who give up their freedoms to protect ours, are so oftenly the victims of those exercising them.
Sad that.
EDIT:
Colonel: While i do not disagree with your opinion, the asker is OBVIOUSLY from England, not the USA. While both free countries, the issues are different.

The freedom to protest goes for all, you can't exclude the right based on religion.

Too much of unworthy freedom allowed by our Government to the muslims to express their displeasure against the presence of our soldiers in any region must be banned. The same is unhealthy and anti national act.Our Govt. must find some ways and means to curve this.
Will the same muslims, by any chance, be allowed in any Islamic country(which may be their country of origin) to protest against the deployment their soldiers anywhere ?
Isn't it highly demoralising act against our soldiers who have been dying to bring about stability and peace in a region. The Govt. should enact some law to ban such act and punish these muslims.

So, what country are you referring to?
In the US, we allow it, it's called freedom of speech and the right to assemble peacefully.
We don't have to like what they are saying, but we will fight to the death to protect it!
