First, we don't know that he's dead. The news report just said he had been shot, not that he had been killed. It was obviously someone who knew his mother, so I'm guessing it was a Company hit ordered by Bob. It would be interesting if Bennet was the shooter, since he's made a deal with them. Claire won't like it if one father shot the other father.

Some people say Sylar, but I think it was someone hired by either Bob or Mama P. That woman is the biggest villain on the show - I've got sons, and even though they've irritated me to no end over the years, and I've issued some very, very creative threats, I wouldn't even consider treating them the way she treats Nathan and Peter. At least we know it isn't Adam - am I the only one who just LOVED what Hiro did to him? I flat fell out laughing. But remember, we don't know that Nathan is dead. Heroes has yet to address what the effects are from transfusions of the "eternity" blood (Claire and Adam); since Nathan and HRG were both "healed" by these transfusions, are they now immortal or was the effect just temporary? Just something else to think about until the writer's strike is over.

His mom didnt shoot him. At the end of the episode she recieved a phone call from the shooter or someone who orderd it to be done, the killer probably had to report to her.
